I Reviewed and Ranked the Best Leaf Blowers in 2024

Leaf blowers have become essential tools for efficient outdoor cleaning, making the daunting task of clearing leaves and debris a breeze. In this blog, I’ll be reviewing and ranking the best leaf blowers based on real user feedback and in-depth reviews to help you find the perfect fit for your needs.

1. Ego Power+ LB5302 Cordless Leaf Blower:

Helpful Review: OK, it’s a leaf blower. You don’t use it a whole lot, though it is quite handy. You can knock all the excess grass clippings away after yard trimming in no time. And to my surprise after finally popping the money for one, it’s actually fun! Especially now that I don’t spend 15 minutes sweeping and bagging those clippings anymore. Really, tool people, get you a leaf blower. It’s not going to be your most used tool, but you’ll appreciate it.

Ok, I’ve already got an EGO yard trimmer and an EGO hedge trimmer which you would do well to find a way to try out somehow. They are really powerful and no more fuss and muss with extension cords or mixing gas. You pop the battery in and you go to work. They are fantastic! So I got the leaf blower with the battery and charger, no good reason for that other than you save money on those by getting the package. That way I have an extra because the batteries are indeed, interchangeable with all the EGO tools accept the chainsaw.

KNOW that if this is your FIRST EGO tool, you WILL need to purchase the one with the battery and charger. But if you have another EGO tool with the battery and/or charger, you can can save a considerable amount of money by just getting the blower. Now I got this one, which is 3 steps up from the entry level, simply because it was on sale at the time and the same price as the entry level one. I believe I’m glad I did. It really blows powerfully. And that’s what’s fun about it, if only for a couple of minutes. I believe it’s totally safe though. My boys (adult) get a little stupid with it blowing their mouths all wild and open and for tick-tock and such.

God favors the silly, but I put safety goggles on them and you may be wise to consider that when legitimately using all EGO tools too. Like I said, they are powerful. Now a little about EGO batteries. The replacements are pricey, which I think is what detours people away from EGO. But know that they last a very LONG time. I got my EGO string trimmer with my first battery about 5 years ago and I regularly trim 3 big yards.

It is just now beginning to loose charge time. And the chargers will last forever so you really only need one, which can save you some money too. I did get another charger and battery with the hedge trimmer package though, which again, saved me some cash by buying the package. This way I can always have a fully charged backup or two, which I sometimes need. Expect about 2 hours of charge for the lawn trimmer, 3 or 4 for the hedge trimmer, and I think the blower will hold charge forever.

2. Lazy BOI Cordless Leaf Blower:

Helpful Review: I recently purchased the Cordless Leaf Blower from Amazon, and it has truly become my go-to tool for maintaining a tidy yard all year round. This incredible device has made my lawn care and patio cleaning tasks a breeze, and I couldn’t be happier with its performance.

First and foremost, the inclusion of two batteries and a charger is a game-changer. With the 21V battery power, I can easily tackle my outdoor projects without worrying about running out of juice. The two-speed mode feature is fantastic, allowing me to adjust the power based on the task at hand. Whether I’m blowing leaves off the lawn or clearing snow from my driveway, this leaf blower has the power and versatility to handle it all.

The Cordless Leaf Blower is impressively lightweight, making it comfortable to use for extended periods. I no longer experience fatigue or strain on my arms and back, even when tackling larger areas. The ergonomic design provides a comfortable grip, ensuring a secure hold and precise control over the airflow.

One of the aspects that impressed me the most is the exceptional blowing power of this cordless leaf blower. It effortlessly blasts away leaves, debris, and even light snow, leaving my outdoor spaces clean and well-maintained. The concentrated airflow helps me reach tight corners and crevices that were difficult to clean with traditional methods.

Another notable feature is the low noise operation. I appreciate how this leaf blower operates quietly without sacrificing performance. It allows me to work early in the morning or late in the evening without disturbing my family or neighbors. This silent operation also means I can enjoy a peaceful outdoor environment while maintaining its cleanliness.

The battery life of the Cordless Leaf Blower is outstanding. Each fully charged battery provides ample runtime to complete my tasks without interruptions. I can cover a large area without having to worry about constantly recharging or swapping batteries. This efficiency saves me time and enhances my overall productivity.

The build quality of the leaf blower is impressive. It feels sturdy and durable, capable of withstanding regular use and occasional bumps. The construction is robust, ensuring longevity and reliability, even in demanding weather conditions. I appreciate the attention to detail and the quality craftsmanship that has gone into this product.

Lastly, I must mention the excellent customer service provided by the manufacturer. They are responsive, knowledgeable, and dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction. It’s reassuring to know that they stand behind their product and are ready to assist with any inquiries or concerns. I highly recommend this leaf blower to anyone in need of a reliable and efficient tool for blowing leaves, clearing snow, and maintaining a clean outdoor environment.

3. Dewalt 20V Max Blower:

Helpful Review: I already have two blowers, one gas Stihl, and one battery DeWalt. They handle the big and medium jobs. But I wanted a very small one, that I could keep inside and have handy for clearing off my front porch and walkways, which are constantly cluttered with leaves and dead flowers. THIS IS THE PERFECT SOLUTION! It has plenty of power for that job. More than enough. It’s very small size was a great surprise (smaller than I thought it would be). Very light, very easy to use, and of course receives my DeWalt batteries.

While other reviewers warn that it can’t blow enough air, I am happy with how LITTLE it blows. I can now clear my walkways and stone paths by gently nudging leaves off, instead of scattering the surrounding ground cover all over the place, which makes a bigger mess than the leaves! It has three speeds AND a variable speed trigger. The trigger is very sensitive and way more responsive than the trigger on its bigger DeWalt brother. So much better control. I can dial it down very low. Also great for clearing my garage floor and workbench without sending a cloud of dust up into the shelves and rafters.

And it’s small enough to hide behind the paper shredder in my office, right by the outside door. So it’ll always be ready, and always be handy. VERY pleased with this purchase. Ignore the reviewers complaining that it’s not the right tool for lawns and gardens, not powerful enough. Of course it’s not. It wasn’t designed for that. But for what it IS designed for, it excels.

Also ignore the reviewers complaining about the tubes falling off. They must have thought they slip on like a vacuum cleaner attachment. That’s not how they work. You slide them on and then twist them to lock them in place. They work perfectly, and fit snugly, if you install them properly. Oh, and it comes with three finer nozzle adapters, which I have yet to try, but I expect they’ll be great for even finer flow control. Two thumbs up!!

4. Black+Decker Leaf Blower & Leaf Vacuum:

Helpful Review: I used the B&D blower/vacuum/mulcher today for the first time, to clean up the leaves in our back yard. Our yard is roughly 1500sf and we have two big trees that dumped about 2/3 of their leaves that I needed to pick up. The wind was very strong last night, so it took care of gathering the leaves into a few main areas in the yard so I just had to vacuum them up. I did not use the blower function this time, only the vacuum/mulcher.

It worked great! I was so pleased with the suction power, much more than I was expecting. I did use it on the high seeing the whole time. It was able to make quick work of piles, as well as picking up the leaves that had been walked on and smashed into the grass. It comes with a strap that clips onto the machine so you can put it across your shoulder/chest so a lot of the weight is on your shoulders and not on your arms. It’s easy to maneuver and lightweight to start out. However, as you vacuum up the leaves, the collection bag gets heavy, so you then start to feel the weight.

Nice thing is, the collection bag is very easy to snap on/off, and the zipper to empty it makes it easy to do so, as frequently as you need to. I picked up all the leaves in the back yard, emptied the collection bag 5 or 6 times, and it all mulched down to fit into a 40 gal contractor bag. Awesome! Thank you to another reviewer who warned of the dust from the collection bag. I heeded that warning and wore a mask, and it was very much needed. If you don’t wear glasses you may consider wearing some goggles or safety glasses too, to keep the dust out of your eyes.

Fair warning, you will get very dirty running the vac/mulch, so just plan on having to change your clothes and shower afterwards. A small price to pay for this machine that does a great job. I would highly recommend this B&D blower/vacuum/mulcher.

5. Leapul Electric Cordless Leaf Blower:

Helpful Review: I have a gas powered leaf blower which is too much for me to handle with all the maintenance issues like not starting or multiple cord pulling to start. Lot of times we don’t blow our grass clippings after the cut since our gas blower would constantly be a challenge to start, so our work is done halfway and we have to wait till the leaf blower started back up to complete the job. The gas blower is also very heavy to carry around. Then I just got this Leapul cordless blower and I’m impressed with the amount of leaves, sticks and other debris it moves around the yard and driveway.

I like the ease of assembly and simplistic design. It comes with 2 batteries and charges fast within an hour. It is very light and easy to use. Also my arms don’t hurt and get tired as it does with the gas powered blower. I would recommend this product if anyone is looking for a lightweight and to get small to medium job done. The price is very reasonable for the power it offers. This is going to be a good tool for me going forward and save me a lot of effort getting the job done. Although not important for me, but it would be nice if it included a tapered nozzle too.

Considerations for Choosing the Right Leaf Blower:

Power Source:

Decide between corded or cordless based on your mobility needs.
Cordless models provide freedom of movement but consider battery life.
Corded models offer continuous power but are limited by the cord length.

Airflow Capacity and Speed:

Consider the CFM (Cubic Feet Per Minute) for airflow capacity.
Higher CFM is suitable for heavy-duty tasks, while lower CFM is sufficient for light cleaning.
MPH (Miles Per Hour) indicates the airspeed; higher speeds are effective for stubborn debris.

Battery Life and Charging Time:

Evaluate battery life to ensure it meets your cleaning requirements.
Consider charging time, especially for cordless models.

Weight and Ergonomics:

A lightweight design reduces user fatigue during prolonged use.
Ergonomic designs with one-handed operation enhance user comfort.

Versatility and Special Features:

Some models serve multiple functions, such as blowing, vacuuming, and mulching.
Special features like turbo buttons, variable speed controls, and weather-resistant construction add value.

Warranty and Customer Support:

Check the warranty period for both the tool and the battery.
Responsive customer support is crucial for addressing any issues during use.

Noise Level:

Consider the noise level if you live in noise-sensitive neighborhoods.
Lower dB levels provide a quieter operation.

Budget:

Set a budget based on your requirements, considering the features and brand reputation.

By considering these factors and the features of each leaf blower, you can make an informed decision that aligns with your specific needs and preferences. Whether you’re tackling light yard work or heavy-duty debris, the right leaf blower can make outdoor cleaning a more efficient and enjoyable task.
