6 Best Vacuum Cleaners of 2024

Investing in the right vacuum cleaner is crucial for maintaining a clean and healthy living space. With numerous options available in the market, it’s essential to consider various factors to ensure you make an informed decision. I’ll be reviewing and ranking the best vacuum cleaners based on real user feedback and in-depth reviews to help you find the perfect fit for your needs.

1. Shark NV360 Navigator Lift-Away Deluxe Upright Vacuum:

Helpful Review: I just received this vacuum cleaner yesterday and I couldn’t be happier with it. We had new plush carpet installed and I couldn’t push my old Dyson vacuum across the carpet. I read that this one had suction control settings. It was just what I needed! At first, it too was impossible to push, but once I adjusted the suction settings it worked like a charm. An added bonus is the removable canister that allows you to vacuum stairs easily without lugging a heavy vacuum around.

It’s lightweight with incredible suction. It also was a fraction of the price that I paid for my Dyson.
My only concern is that it is a bit unstable on soft carpeted surfaces. The directions say you should lay it flat when you aren’t actively vacuuming the carpet. I feel this could be improved upon from a design standpoint. Certainly not a deal breaker though. Overall I’m very happy with my new vacuum!

2. Britech Cordless Lightweight Stick Vacuum Cleaner:

Helpful Review: I’ll start with a disclaimer. I bought a bad one and returned it so I don’t know how common it is to get a bad one delivered. I used one that a friend had though and it was great. The power to weight ratio and the ease of use are all great.  Battery doesn’t last a long time, but it’s really clearly meant for small spaces rather than a whole house.

The ease of changing attachments is great, and the head with the brushes does a pretty good job of getting dog hair up. There’s a significant gap between the edge of the head and the brush roll, so getting into corners needs the use of one of the other attachments. It’s great for transitioning between different flooring surfaces. The brushes straighten the fringe on a rug nicely.

3. Bissell 2252 Clean View Swivel Upright Bagless Vacuum:

Helpful Review: I ordered 3 different vacuums at the same time so I could compare. I had a Dyson before and it was over rated, over priced and clunky. I didn’t want to spend over $300.00 for a vacuum but I wanted one that worked. I spent a long time reading reviews. I have all hardwood floors, carpet only in closet. I have a huge wall to wall area rug that is a short shag, and thick bath rugs.

I live in the desert and get lots of fine sand in the house and need to vacuum often. I like the 5 settings from bare floor to high carpet. I was surprised at how good the suction was and all the attachments, longer cord, and ease of cleaning. I am impressed with this vacuum and as crazy as it sounds I enjoy using it. Lol It is easy to maneuver and not too heavy. The only negative is that it doesn’t lay all the way flat to get under my bed. I give it 5 stars.

4. Shark ZU503AMZ Navigator Lift-Away Upright Vacuum:

Helpful Review: I’ve never written a review before, but I had to for this vacuum. First off, I hate cleaning, but I do it because I can’t stand a messy house. So, when the vacuum arrived, I was excited—it was something new for the house. Delivery was fast, and the box arrived in perfect condition. Everything inside was well-wrapped and padded, which made me happy. I didn’t even need to look at the instructions to assemble it because it was that easy (I checked after, and I did it right). The box included the vacuum, crevice tool, dusting brush, straight suction floor nozzle, and upholstery tool. The straight suction nozzle even fit under my couch and recliner, which made cleaning a breeze.

Next, my one-year-old son is terrified of vacuums, but when I turned this one on, he didn’t even flinch. It’s much quieter than most vacuums, and he just watched as I moved it toward him—no screaming, which made me a very happy mom.

I have mostly hard floors and only two carpeted rooms. I started vacuuming with the brush roll off, and I was amazed at what it picked up. It got everything—dirt, crumbs, even the goldfish crackers under the high chair. I vacuumed my living room, dining room, and kitchen without needing to unplug, thanks to the long cord. The vacuum also handled the dirt in the mudroom with no problem. When it came time to empty it, the dirt compartment had a latch at both the top and bottom, making it super easy to empty without getting my hands dirty.

Then, I turned the brush roll on to vacuum the two carpeted rooms (which I had just vacuumed the night before), and I was shocked at how much it picked up. I thought the carpets were clean, but this Shark Rotator proved otherwise! By the time I finished, the dust cup was half full. My old vacuum definitely wasn’t cutting it.

Lastly, this vacuum practically pulls itself across the carpet, so there’s no struggle to move or turn it. With this vacuum, cleaning my floors is easy, and my house feels cleaner than ever. It now takes me about 20 minutes to vacuum the whole house, compared to 40 minutes with my old vacuum. I’m so thankful someone recommended this vacuum to us—I’ll be sticking with it for life if I can!

5. Aspiron Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Helpful Review: I recently purchased the Aspiron Canister Vacuum Cleaner, and I am very satisfied with my experience. The vacuum cleaner is well-built and feels sturdy, reflecting good quality craftsmanship. It came with numerous attachments, which made the installation process straightforward and convenient.

One pleasant surprise was the inclusion of an extra air filter, which felt like a complimentary gift. This thoughtful addition not only adds value but also saves money on future purchases. I primarily bought this vacuum for cleaning my car, and it has proven to be an excellent choice. The suction power is impressive, effectively picking up dirt and debris with ease.

The vacuum features a power level control dial, allowing for easy adjustment of suction strength based on cleaning needs. Additionally, the power cord can be pulled out and automatically retracted, making storage and use very neat and hassle-free. The fan quality reminds me of Dyson, as it operates with substantial power yet remains relatively quiet.

6. Bissell 2998 Multi Clean Vacuum:

Helpful Review: I had a Bissell for about 5 years that stopped working. I guess maybe it was a clogged brush roller or broken belt. I did a ton of research on a new vacuum cleaner. As usual, there are always mixed reviews. I decided on this one because of the pet hair issue. We have 3 cats and the amount of hair that needs to be vacuumed is ridiculous. We recently had the carpet removed from the stairs, which was always difficult to clean.

Today was the first use of this vacuum cleaner, and let me tell you, it’s a great cleaner! Easy to assemble, much lighter than the previous one, suction is phenomenal, and so easy to use. I forgot it was a swivel type, and although I wasn’t looking for that feature, it really is helpful. I like the power switch being close to the top, and the ability to turn off the roller is great for cleaning area rugs that can get sucked up. It even sucked up a cat toy by accident and was very easy to remove. I have a bad back, but this is very easy to use without any pain. The light definitely helps a lot too.

I can’t believe how much of a difference it made after just one use! The canister was full after just doing 2 rooms! Cleaning the machine is a breeze. Everything swirls around the center of the canister, and just falls out into the trash bag without having to pull it out like my last one. The cord rewinder would have been a nice feature, but that’s about the only thing missing on this. Oh and the pet hair attachment is way more powerful than the previous one. Easy to clean that, too. Plus the HEPA filter is a definite necessity. All in all, I highly recommend this vacuum cleaner for everyone! Good job, Bissell!

Considerations for Your Purchase:

Floor Type: Consider the flooring in your home – carpets, hardwood, or a combination – to choose a vacuum with suitable cleaning capabilities.
Allergen Control: If allergies are a concern, opt for vacuums with HEPA filters and anti-allergen technologies.
Pet-Friendly Features: For pet owners, look for models with specialized tools for effective pet hair removal.
Convenience: Cordless options provide mobility, while corded ones ensure consistent power. Choose based on your preferences.
Attachments: Evaluate the availability of attachments for versatile cleaning in various scenarios.

By considering your specific needs and the features outlined in this guide, you can confidently make an informed decision when selecting the best vacuum cleaner for your home in 2024. Happy cleaning!
